Arthur Rubloff
He was once described as “The Man who changed
the face of Chicago.” Over a long and storied
career which spanned six decades, Arthur Rubloff
was a catalyst for countless commercial and
residential real estate developments which
changed the face of the Chicago landscape.
His legacy of positive change is evidenced by the
Carl Sandburg Village, the Evergreen Shopping
Plaza and the Brunswick Building, the world
headquarters to Arthur Anderson & Company and
the Brunswick Corporation.
In the late 1940’s, his Magnificent Mile development
transformed the North Michigan retail
community into the Midwest’s most thriving and
glittering shopping center.
Arthur’s accomplishments extend far beyond
Chicago. Over the years he built a $1 billion
portfolio of projects that spanned the country. This
diverse portfolio of properties included super
regional malls in San Francisco, condominium
developments in New York and Miami, as well as
office buildings and retail developments in most of
the country’s major metropolitan centers.
Arthur died May 24, 1986, leaving behind a company
with a rich tradition and successful real estate developments
throughout the country.
